Company
History
ASH was established in the
British Virgin Islands by its current Chairman, Mr.
Chih-I Lin, in 2002. Prior to the formation of ASH,
Mr. Lin ran his self-funded orthopedics company –
Central Medical Technologies (CMT), which focused in
developing new spinal implant products. Over the
past 10 years CMT has accumulated a rich intellectual
property portfolio (with over 120 patents in orthopedics
implants) and its products are distributed through the
leading distributors including Zimmer (Asia), Acuna & Fombona S.A. (Europe),
and Cosmotec (Japan).
In 2001, with the help of 2 venture capital firms (Taiwan´s
President Life Science, and Japan's
JAFCO), ASH was established and at the same time all
CMT´s intellectual properties are inherited into
the new company. ASH also established 3 fully owned
subsidiaries in Taiwan,
Japan and the United States to service its local partners.
